WEEK OF!!!!

It is the final week until our event! We are all so excited and can’t wait for Sunday. It really is going to show us how much our hard work paid off. We just have a few more things to figure out to make our event run very smoothly. We still need to figure out who is forsure going to volunteer for us. Also we are still figuring out some minor details for decor and we are still making sure that everything we need is fully paid for!

Friday

Friday afternoon Emily, Nichole and I met at a really cool cafe in downtown phoenix to discuss decor and some more details about our event. We finalized what we want our volunteers to be wearing and decided on our decor. Were going to get some wood and have one of our friends paint something really cool on it for people to sign at our event. We think it will be a nice touch. We also split up afterwards to go talk to a few places in downtown phoenix and invite them/ put out flyers for people to see. 9 days away!!!!!!

Woohoo!

What a great ending to a long but great week! We found out were getting all of the funding necessary for No Vacancy which is INCREDIBLE!!!! I was really getting stressed out about that. Everything has been coming together great this week. Our VIP invitations look amazing and we created our VIP list friday at our meeting. Now time to send those out and put our flyers everywhere!

4/7 launch date coming soon!!!

Today we are 18 days out until our event!!! That is really exciting and I am very excited to see the success of our event. I am not too worried about anything. I know everything is going to be okay and run smoothly. The main thing on my mind that I am worried about is not breaking even. I really hope that at our meeting tomorrow downtown we find out we still get funding for everything. Questions on my mind currently are mainly “are we going to get funding”?!?! also, “will it be a successful turn out?”. But I am pretty confident although not many tickets have been sold we will have a lot of last minute people purchase tickets, especially now that our press release has been sent in to where it needs to go.

4/6 measuring success

Measuring if our event will be a success is going to be based on our turnout and if were going to break even for our event. One of the most important pieces to me of this event is having a very good turnout, lots of tickets sold, all of the artists involved enjoying being a part of it, people talking about our event, and the Foundre hotel enjoying hosting our event. Another important measure of success to me will be seeing all of the logistics run smoothly, seeing the flow of our event and it being as we imagined. Patrons staying throughout the event and enjoying the band and all the rooms and artists. One last measure to me will be if everyone on our team is also happy with how the event went.

Today in our meeting…

Today we had such a successful meeting in class. It was extremely productive we all worked on separate tasks that needed to be done. Emily made two really nice graphics for us, we were able to get a large contact list for an E-blast, I created some more images for social media, Elaina was working on applying for a grant in downtown Phoenix campus, and Nichole gave us the good news that it is quite possible we will be getting something to help us with our finances from USG. Today was a good day. The closer we are getting to our event date the more I see it all coming together. Today has me feeling extremely accomplished.

4/5

Working with an established venue like the Found:re we have pivoted a few ideas as a team since our first meeting with the curator, Mike. One perfect example of us pivoting an idea as a team was when we first met with Mike. He had brought the idea to us about having some sort of private viewing prior to our event for something more VIP and secluded. We then discussed having a one hour private viewing VIP party to start off our event. After that idea we decided to have appetizers and champagne and an open bar. After this we decided to get rid of an open bar and champagne but keep the cash bar open and have appetizers (hopefully). I never really realized how much things could shift based on a venue and what they envision after hearing about our event.

4/1

This week is going pretty well. We delagated on Monday and created a schedule from now up until the event for what needs to be done and by whom. On Friday at our meeting we realized our graphic designer fell through but it is okay we are now collaborating all of our ideas to create some graphics for posters and invitations. Im working on some social media graphics for count downs each day to post for when it 3 weeks, 2 weeks, and then a countdown of the last 7 days up until the event. I am very excited because it is getting closer and closer. Although we have some road bumps sometimes we always seem to find a way to get around it. Working with a team of all sorts of different skills compared to the other is really helpful in different ways.

3/31 Customer Segments

No Vacany’s customer segments are for entrepreneurs, local artists, and patrons who are interested in local art. We hope to get the art community to see all of the different forms of art by having an assortment of interdisciplinarys apart of our exhibition at the foundre. We are creating value for all of the local artists by having them be apart of our event, They are able to network with each other and also with all patrons who come in. They are getting their names out too by being apart of our event. We are also having a VIP hour for the deans and professors of ASU.

3/30

Getting out of the building and asking friends, strangers, classmates, and many random patrons while I was at work was a very good experience. I was able to receive a lot of different feedback from different types of people not just my friends. The only challenge for me was trying to explain the event in the beginning to people. I could have explained the event better to some. It was interesting when out of all the different people I would talk to how sometimes everyone would have the same answers and other times it was all across the boards. I really enjoyed getting out of the building and talking to customers. I enjoy hearing feedback from others.
