Week 1

Coming into a class room with new faces and energies is always and interesting experience. It is always a sort of game to figure out how each person on the team will fit into the larger picture. I think that being able to identify strengths and honing in on group dynamics is vital for working on entrepreneurial skills. In business ventures we will not always be able to chose the people we work with so it is important to understand how to effectively communicate and gain an understanding of the multitude of different working styles. I  personally really enjoyed the way our group has meshed and I appreciate the wide span of disciplines we all have within the arts.

In class we also discussed the logistical procedures of running an arts venture which I found to be very helpful for what I am aiming to do. We talked about social media presence, fund raising, and how the arts can fit into the entrepreneurial spectrum while staying sustainable. I hope as we continue to learn more about arts entrepreneurship we will all grow together as artists learning how we can foster this drive into something that is both enriching and profitable.
